By playing Tower Unite and/or using PixelTail Games services, you agree to the following rules and our End User Agreement License (EULA).

In order to use Tower Unite or Tower Unite-provided services, you must be 13 years of age or older.

These rules apply to official Tower Unite Plaza servers, in-game chat features, forums, and our Discord.

General Rules

By using our in-game services (voice, chat, etc.), forums, and Discord, you agree to the following general rules:

We have a zero tolerance ban policy regarding racism, transphobia, homophobia, antisemitism, and any other forms of discrimination.

Usage of racial slurs will get you permanently banned.

Respect others and treat them how you wish to be treated.
No discrimination or hate speech. No one should be discriminated against.
No sexually explicit behavior.
No harassment or trolling.
No violating privacy of others.
No politics or debates of controversial nature.

These rules apply to all of our users, which include any of our Patrons, backers, and our moderators. Our moderation team reviews reports case-by-case and takes action based on evidence.

These rules exist to ensure our community is a healthy, welcoming, and friendly community.

Full Rules

By using our in-game services (voice, chat, etc.), forums, and Discord, you agree to the following general rules:

No offensive, profane, defamatory, racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, threatening, obscene, or unlawful material.
This includes content in your Condo. See Condo Content Rules.

No harassment or threats

No harassment or trolling of others, including our developers or moderators.
Do not threaten others, including our developers or moderators.

No slander

No slanderous or libelous comments about other users, PixelTail Games employees or contractors, or other individuals.
This includes content in your Condo. See Condo Content Rules.

No personal information or anything that could violate the privacy of any individual (no doxxing)
This includes content in your Condo. See Condo Content Rules.

No advertising

No business solicitation of any type, including advertising a product or service, offering a product or service for sale, or directing readers to a location for more information about a product or service.

No exploits

No transmission of viruses, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs that may adversely affect the operation of PixelTail Game’s systems or a third party’s computer.
Discussion of any game exploit is strictly forbidden. Please follow the How To Report Players guide to report exploits. Macroing is considered an exploit!
Discussion or promotion of any leak of code, content, or misuse of GMod Tower content is strictly forbidden.

No sexually explicit content

Do not use any inappropriate avatars or usernames (which includes anything sexual, offensive, or containing hate speech).
Do not solicit or harass others for sexual activities.
For user-hosted servers: Outside of properly labeled "Mature Condos," sexually explicit chat is not allowed and will be moderated if reported with proper evidence.
Sexual harassment, threats, and any illegal sexual discussions in any space, user-hosted or otherwise, are not allowed. These cases should be reported and will be handled by our staff.
If you encounter user-submitted content outside of chat, such as on the "Canvas" system in Condos, that violates these rules, follow these instructions to report it: Reporting Canvases

No spamming

Spamming chat or voice chat in Plaza or Discord is not allowed.

No ban evading

Ban evasion, the act of setting up alternative accounts to avoid a ban, is strictly forbidden and will only increase the severity of your existing ban.

No ban discussion/promotion

Discussing bans in our chats is not allowed. Any discussion of bans is not allowed and may be removed.
Do not discuss the bans of others. Promoting and campaigning for banned users to be unbanned is not allowed and may be removed. Otherwise challenging specific moderation decisions outside of the proper channels (Ban Appeals) is not allowed and may be removed.

No discussion of game ROMs

While Tower has emulators, discussion/providing links of how to obtain ROMs, warez, illegally obtained software is completely forbidden.

Be respectful

Respect others in the community.
Respect our moderators, as they will respect you.
- If you have a question about mod decisions, ask politely.
- If you have additional information that could help their decisions, please share it with them in a mature way and use the Report Player Form.
- If you are appealing a ban, or requesting more information about your ban, please use the Ban Appeal Form and do not discuss the ban publicly. Please be respectful and polite about it.
- Moderators are people too and they just want to enjoy the game/chat just as much as everyone else.

Additional In-Game Special Cases

Tower Unite has specific in-game rules while using its various features.

Text Hat Rules

Text Hat follows the same rules as our in-game chat. If your Text Hat breaks any of the above rules, you will get banned from in-game chat and will no longer be able to set a text hat.

Usernames & Avatar Rules

Usernames & avatars, including Steam, follow the same rules as our in-game chat. If your username or avatar breaks any of the above rules, you will get banned from in-game chat.

Condo Title Rules

Condo Titles follow the same rules as our in-game chat. If your Condo Title breaks any of the above rules, you will lose the ability to set your Condo Title and possibly in-game chat.

Mediaplayer / Theater Rules

Do not post any sexually explicit theater content while in the Plaza.
Theater/Media player videos posted from your account that break any of the above rules may get you banned from posting theater videos.

Leaderboard Rules

Cheating leaderboard scores will get your leaderboard entities removed permanently. This includes buffering and/or botting the game.

Workshop Content Rules

Workshop models and content have their own set of rules which you can read here: Workshop Content Rules
The majority of the workshop rules overlap with these set of rules. Failure to follow the workshop rules will get your workshop content removed.

Chat Filters

Do not circumvent in-game chat filters.

Use caution with Family Sharing. While we allow Family Sharing for the game, if you Family Share with another user, your account will also be banned if they break any rules.

Condo Content Rules

Condos have their own set of Condo Content Rules.

Discord Rules

Multiple @ mentions are not allowed. Do not @ random players or developers.
When contacting developers, please do not @ developers.
Use of bots is forbidden.
If you need immediate assistance, please use the @tower unite moderators tag to notify moderators.
Discussion of bans or banned users is not tolerated.

Condo Rules

Condos may contain custom user-generated content (also known as "Canvases") that may not be suitable for all ages.

PixelTail Games / Tower Unite does not host any of the user-generated content (also known as "Canvases").

Control Custom Content

You can use the Content controls found in the Settings menu to narrow down what custom content ("Workshop models") and images ("Canvases") you feel comfortable downloading.

By default, when you join a Condo, you will be prompted to either trust or not trust the player's Canvas data.

You can quickly untrust Condos using the Tab menu and the canvas data will be made hidden and cleared completely. Disconnecting will also immediately clear the data.

Custom content does not cache, unless you are Steam friends with the Condo host. You can also disable cache settings completely in the Content controls.

Condo Content Rules & Moderation

When joining other player Condos, it’s important to understand that Condos are user hosted, and are not fully moderated by PixelTail, except for the content rules listed below.

Condo content that is not allowed under any circumstances include:

underage characters performing sexual acts or is nude/exposed
hate speech or racism (including transphobia, homophobia, anti-LGBT+)
excessive harassment
doxxing of another user (sharing personally identifiable information)
self-harm, torture, non-fiction human violent imagery
animal violence
antisemitism
inappropriate imagery or flag usage (ex. nazi flags or flags representing pedophilia)
promoting public figures that support hate speech or bigotry
illegal drug usage
any other illegal content

We may, at our discretion and with no notice, temporarily or permanently take Condos off the Condo server list/hub or limit Condo permissions if we find the condos contain unacceptable content.

Condos that contain mature content must tag their Condo when hosting. You must add 18+ or Adult Only into the Condo title while hosting. If you are unsure how to do this, there is a mature content checkbox before you host your Condo that adds the tag for you.

You must follow our Condo content rules and label your Condo title with the keyword 18+. If you host mature content without this tag, your Condo will be delisted.

18+ Condos will not show up on the Condo list by default and players must adjust their settings to display these Condos.

PixelTail Games reserves the right to moderate our services at our discretion and have final say on actions taken upon your account.

We may remove postings that contain objectionable material, spam, or otherwise violates the foregoing rules.

Failure to follow these rules may get your access to the forums, Discord, or in-game services disabled with or without notice.

Services that we currently moderate include in-game text chat, voice chat, theater/nightclub videos, Condo titles, usernames/avatars, text hat, Condo content, Discord, our forums, and Steam discussions.

We reserve the right to revise the Rules at any time to keep Tower Unite safe for everyone.
